The ambition was and is to create an unpretentious, genuine and relaxing place with flavoursome local food rooted in the farm’s history and food traditions. The barn also serves coffee made from locally roasted beans and delicious homemade cakes. The barn can cater for around 80 guests. The venue is fully licensed and open for all kinds of events. Combine the dining experience at Låven with a horseback ride in the Lofoten countryside, a hike in the mountains at Hoven, a Sunday stroll on the beautiful, white Hovstranda beach, or how about a visit to our wood-fired sauna on the beach, combined with a refreshing bath? Of course, if you need accommodation, we recommend booking our guest house. Our nearest neighbour, the Lofoten Links golf course, was named one of the world’s 100 most spectacular golf courses in 2024 and is well worth a visit! They offer 24-hour golf under the midnight sun in the summer – an unforgettable experience for golf enthusiasts! The barn was originally built in the 1950s by Tor Jensen and Åge Hov, the great-grandfather and grandfather of Frode Hov, who owns the farm today. The restoration of the barn from the 1950s began in 2016 and took two years to complete. K A Karlsen AS was the turnkey contractor for the project, and also used Haneseth Lofoten AS for lighting and all electrical work, while all plumbing was done by Håkon Hansen AS.
