Full day tour

Come to Hov Gård and join our full-day trip!

We have two alternative full-day trips on Gimsøy. Which tour we choose is determined by the weather, wind and tide. One of the tours builds on the Viking Tour and the Half-Day Tour, but we ride even further and more. The tour starts in the stables at Hov. We’ll ride the Viking Road over Storraet and along the beaches of Vinje all the way to Gimsøy Church before having a light lunch with the horses in hand. After a short break, we’ll continue on some great routes towards Gjendalen.

Another option is towards Vik and Årstrand. We spend more time on the slightly more unpolished beaches and go exploring with views of the magical mountains of Vestvågøy. We’ll have lunch on the way, with the horses in hand, before heading home. On both of these tours, there are several long stretches with good opportunities for slightly more technical riding and also a slightly higher pace, so you have time to get to know the horse properly. It is a prerequisite that you are an experienced rider to participate in these tours. You must be able to control a horse in open countryside and be comfortable in all gaits.
