
Mountains of Lofoten
This tour offers scenic and demanding rides where the rider is put to the test in different types of terrain. We are taking several new tours in the Lofoten mountains with spectacular views and exciting trails. You need to be an experienced rider and in good physical shape. You must be able to handle riding in different types of terrain, and in steep sections you will need to hire a horse. This is a trip for those who want to get close to nature, experience spectacular views and test yourself together with our horses. This is included:
- 7 nights in the guesthouse at Hov Farm
- 6 horseback rides, of which 4 are full-day rides and 2 are half-day rides
- 1 activity day without horses
- Breakfast, lunch and 2-course dinner at Restaurant Låven every day
- Transport to and from the airport

Although our Icelandic horses are strong, we have a weight limit of 95kg for both short trips such as Lofoten til Hest, Midnattsolturen and Nordlysturen and for longer trips. On longer tours, the weight limit may depend on your riding skills and experience.

We offer helmets, gloves, thermal suits, rain jackets, rain trousers and boots on loan, but recommend everyone to dress for the weather as far as possible.

Basically, riders on multi-day tours stay at Hov Gjestehus on the farm. The guesthouse has 6 double bedrooms and 3 shared bathrooms, plus a living room, kitchen and laundry room. It has a large veranda and views of Hovstranda and the open sea, and is a gem for enjoying the midnight sun or the Northern Lights, depending on the season.

We recommend that you bring nuts, energy bars or similar with you on your trip, as sometimes the weather can delay meals – or simply because our energy levels are different. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price.

We can offer transport to and from Leknes and Svolvær on arrival and departure dates, between 08:00 and 18:00 at no extra charge.

We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner every day from check-in to check-out on multi-day tours. However, it’s a good idea to bring along some energy replenishment in the form of nuts, muesli bars and the like.
