Lofoten Island Ride
This tour combines some of our most scenic and exciting rides — a mix of mountain trails, gravel roads, and winding paths through Lofoten’s wild landscapes. You will experience both our classic routes and a few new adventures along the way.
The rides range from medium to demanding, and participants should have solid riding experience, be comfortable in varied terrain, and able to master all gaits. One night will be spent at a prepared tent camp under the open sky, while the rest of the nights are spent at Hov Gjestehus, our comfortable home base.
During the week, we take a boat to reach a remote island for one of the rides, adding a touch of island hopping to the adventure. The Lofoten Island Ride is an unforgettable journey that combines spectacular nature, exciting riding, and the unique spirit of Lofoten.
Included in the tour:
- Seven nights in a double or twin room (six nights at Hov Gård and one night in a tent camp)
- Guided horseback riding tours
- One activity on the day off
- Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Transport to and from the airport
The Lofoten Island Ride is more than a tour — it is a journey through nature, history, and connection. From the saddle, you experience the islands as few ever do, carried by our trusted Icelandic horses through landscapes that change with every stride. We welcome you to share in our love for Lofoten, its stories, and its untamed beauty.

Basically, riders on multi-day tours stay at Hov Gjestehus on the farm. The guesthouse has 6 double bedrooms and 3 shared bathrooms, plus a living room, kitchen and laundry room. It has a large veranda and views of Hovstranda and the open sea, and is a gem for enjoying the midnight sun or the Northern Lights, depending on the season.

We recommend that you bring nuts, energy bars or similar with you on your trip, as sometimes the weather can delay meals – or simply because our energy levels are different. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price.
